Fortunate news for the Lions; defensive end Cliff Avril is back with Detroit for another season. Avril was very helpful to the Lions in 2011 ending up with thirty-six tackles including eleven sacks.
However, the Lions were unable to come to an agreement with Avril, and they only got him under the terms of the franchise tag which means he will be a free agent once again in 2013. “I’m kind of disappointed it couldn’t happen, but it is what it is,” says Avril referring to the fact that he and the Lions did not make an agreement.
Even though he and several other crucial players that play for Detroit will become free agents after the 2012 season, the Lions look forward to having Avril play for them this year once again.
