NFL RUSH
2014 NFL Draft: Top TEs

Tight End.  It used be that tight ends were essentially extra linemen who occasionally caught a pass or two.

Now tight ends are true offensive weapons.  They have to be because they are still called on to block.  But they also have to be fast, tall and have great hands because they have become key parts of the passing game. Think Graham. Think Gronkowski. Think Thomas, Davis and Witten.

This year’s draft has several tight end prospects who can do-it-all.

Eric Ebron - North Carolina

Ebron might be the best of the bunch.  He's big (6'4" and 250 pounds), fast (4.6 speed) and catches everything thrown his way.

Jace Amaro – Texas Tech

Amaro piled up 1,352 receiving yards and seven TDs last season.  At 6'5" and 265-pounds, he should be a good blocker as well.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins - Washington

Austin flourished during his sophomore season with 69 catches and 852 yards.  At 6'5" he’s a threat near the end zone, as his 8 TDs last year confirm.

Troy Niklas - Notre Dame

Niklas has a huge frame and good athletic ability and quickness.  He might take a while to adjust to the pro game, but he’s going to be a good one.

C.J. Fiedorowicz - Iowa

C.J. definitely has the size and strength to be a good blocker, and he has the receiving ability to contribute to the passing game.

Sleeper:

Joe Don Duncan - Dixie State

How can you not love someone named Joe Don Duncan?  Add that he’s from somewhere called Dixie State and we’re going to root for this guy big time. The fact that he rewrote Dixie's record book with 135 receptions for 1,994 yards and 22 touchdowns over his career is just icing on the cake.
