2012 Projection: 49ers Get Even Better

Last Year’s Record: 13-3

Predicted 2012 Record: 14-2

Players Added:

WRs Randy Moss, Mario Manningham, & AJ Jenkins, RBs Brandon Jacobs & LaMichael James

Players Lost:

WR Josh Morgan

The main reason the 49ers failed to make it to the Super Bowl last year was the struggle on the offensive side of the ball.  That's why they spent the off-season adding playmakers such as future Hall-of-Famer WR Randy Moss, WR Mario Manningham, RB Brandon Jacobs and speedy rookie RB LaMichael James out of Oregon.

LB Aldon Smith enters his second year as the leader of a young defense, who is likely to improve this year.   Considering they were the 4th best defense overall last year, it’s a bit frightening to imagine how dominant they might become.

As the best team in the NFC last season not named the Giants, San Francisco should be a favorite to make it to the Super Bowl this year.  While we think it’s too early to know for sure, we have to admit they look primed for a deep run in the playoffs.

Will the 49ers reach 14 wins in 2012?
