2012 Football Season

Everybody has been anticipating the beginning of the 2012 NFL season for some time now. Finally, it is close! Several teams look to improve upon this last season, and others hope to have a similar one.

The St. Louis Rams are among the teams hoping to end up with a better year. In 2011, the Rams were predicted to dominate with a 10-6 record. However, after winning all of their pre-season games, the Rams ended up with only two wins.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers almost made it to the playoffs in 2010 with ten wins. However, to the Bucs’ disappointment, a 10-6 record was not enough. That was not the case in 2011 -- they ended up with only four wins, missing even having a shot at the playoffs.

The Detroit Lions coach, Jim Schwartz, joined the team after the Lions went 0-16 in 2008. Ever since then, their record has improved each year. The Lions made it to the playoffs last year with a 10-6 record and lost in the first round to the Saints. This year, Detroit is hoping to have yet another record improvement and perhaps go even further in the playoffs.

The Green Bay Packers nearly became only the second team all-time to have a perfect record. However after a near flawless regular season, the New York Giants beat them in their first playoff game and then went on to win the Super Bowl. With a quarterback that holds the No. 1 spot in the Top 100 Players of 2011 and many other key players, they look to dominate this year.

Every team in the NFL sets goals and hopes to do better than they did last year. That is why every football fan, including me, is looking forward to the beginning of this year!
