"It's not so important who starts the game, but who finishes it" - John Wooden
The votes are in and the 2011 Pro Bowl teams have been selected! The Ravens had 5 players named. The Atlanta Falcons had the most players named overall, with 7.
My two MVP candidates from my article a few weeks ago (Michael Vick and Tom Brady) both got the starting nod at QB from their respective conferences. Vick and Brady also finished 1-2 atop the fan voting column, each receiving more that 1.5 million votes!
If there is one thing I have learned from watching the Pro Bowl, it is the fact that that the game is a test of depth. Because starters don’t play the whole game, the conference team with the most depth will often win. As John Wooden said, “It’s not so important who starts the game but who finishes it.”
My prediction for this year’s game? Well, with the skill and depth that they bring to the table, the NFC will win 28-21. Michael Vick will come up with some big plays with the numerous weapons on the NFC squad, and Vick will take home the Pro Bowl MVP.
