Hey Rushers, Cole here writing about my winter break fun.
I was super lucky to go to the Detroit Lions QB/WR Academy. I chose the wide receiver track to help me better play my cornerback position for the Macomb Mustangs.
I was so excited to go on Ford Field to learn more about good football techniques. Our head coach for the day was Coach Chris. Coach Chris talked to us about learning the fundamentals and how important they are. He warned the quarterbacks that their arms would be killing them. He warned the wide receivers our legs would be hurting by the end of the day. He was so right!
We started off with a warm-up and stretching. We moved on to foot drills with the ladder, criss-crosses and M&Z cones. We learned about starting positions, routes and catching with one hand. I learned about dig, post, corner, fade, hitch, curl and out routes. I would tell you more about the routes but if we meet on the field someday I would be giving away my plays.
The coaches were amazing and one coach was an area high school star running back. They taught us a lot in one day. Coach Chris ended the day reminding us what we do in the off-season is so important. PLAY 60 can sure help you be ready for August! Our day ended with hand shakes from our coaches. We also got cool Lions stuff!
What are you doing in the off-season to get ready for next season?
I think Lions r going to have a good season next season
