FAREWELL BRETT FAVRE![]() After 17 seasons in the NFL, 38-year-old Brett Favre has announced his retirement. Brett was known for his unique energy and love for the game. In his last season, 3-time MVP Brett silenced any critics and showed he still had the magic by achieving a career-best 66.5 completion percentage, passing for 4,155 yards and 28 TDs. He fell just one game short of Super Bowl XLII, after an overtime loss to the Giants. Brett proved he was still one of the game’s most elite players. He finishes his career with an NFL record 61,655 passing yards, NFL record 442 passing TDs (both records previously set by Dan Marino), 9 Pro Bowl appearances and a 61.4 career completion percentage. He also set a quarterback record with 253 consecutive career starts. All but one of his seasons was spent in a Packers uniform and that’s the way Green Bay liked it. The Packer fans, and all football fans alike, will miss seeing Brett on the field, but more than that, will celebrate his long memorable career.
