STAND-OUT PLAYERS: Patriots: QB Tom Brady completed 29 of 49 passes for 266 yards and 1 TD. RB Laurence Maroney rushed for 36 yards with 1 TD and added 12 yards receiving. WR Wes Welker gained 103 yards on a Super Bowl Record tying 11 catches. WR Randy Moss racked up 62 yards receiving with 1 TD. Giants: QB Eli Manning completed 19 of 34 passes for 255 yards with 2 TDs . He also threw his 1st interception of the post season on a bobbled pass by the WR. WR Amani Toomer racked up 84 yards receiving. WR Steve Smith grabbed 50 yards receiving. TOUGH PRESSURE The Giants sacked Tom Brady 5 times during the game. Leading the defense was Justin Tuck with 2 sacks, 6 tackles and 1 forced fumble. ALMOST PERFECT The Patriots end the season with a record of 18-1. MVP MANNING A year after his brother Peyton won the award, Eli Manning was named the MVP of Super Bowl XLII.
