Hey NFLRUSHers,

It's that wonderful time of year again and that means one thing only. The NFL playoffs are up and running soon and I will now show you how I think it will all break down.

Patriots and Ravens will play in New England, but even though the Patriots have the home field does not put them in for an automatic win. After their tough loss to the Texans and losing Wes Welker to an injury, I pick the Ravens to win 21-17.

Second, the Bengals and Jets will battle it out again, but this time I think that the outcome will be different this time as the Bengals will squeak out a win late in the 4th.

On the NFC side I think that the Cowboys will win by 10 or more in their game with the Eagles. Unless the Eagles can get a runnning game going because if they can get that going it will give Mcnabb more options on a play action pass.

Finally, I am picking the Arizona Cardinals to win by a very small margin in their game against the Packers.

Till Next Week,

Hey NFL world,

My favorite team the Pittsburgh Steelers are struggling late in the season and now their once bright playoff hopes are gone. Their Season doesn't get much easier as now they will play the Green Bay Packers at 4:15 on Sunday. The Steelers have been struggling and sadly I don't see the Steelers improving until the offseason. I see the Packers winning with a score 20-17. They have to make many changes, but any Steelers fan knows that we are coming back strong next year!

Due to the Steelers slump causing them to be out of the playoff race almost entirely, I would strongly believe the Super Bowl will host the New Orleans Saints v.s. the San Diego Chargers. After this blood sweating clash between the best team of the AFC and the NFC, I believe the Saints will win. I think this because the Colts WILL choke late in the season against the Chargers, but the Saints is the overall best team in the NFL.

Hey NFL Fanatics,

The Pittsburgh Steelers look to turn around their not so great season they're having. I was suprised to see the Steelers lose to the Raiders and the Chiefs, but now i think that the Steelers can finally win. The Steelers I predict will win with a score of 31-10.

There are two undefeated teams the Colts and Saints. Out of the two I think that the Saints will go undefeated the longest and hopefully the can go undefeated through the Super Bowl, which I think they will.

Sadly I have been suprised by the Steelers this season. I expected the Steelers to be one of the best teams in the league, they are doing worse. Don't worry Steelers Nation we will win number 7 before 2014 I am predicting it now!

There are many people to look out for this week in the NFL. My first fantasy pick is Drew Brees, quarterback of the New Orlean Saints, he has been great this season and I don't see him slowing down at all.

My Second fantasy pick is Rashard Mendenhall, Runningback of the Pittsburgh Steelers, will run over the Browns defense like he has been doing pretty well all season long.

My third fantasy pick is Larry Fitzgerald, Wide Receiver of the Arizona Cardinals, has been having a slow season so far so I think we will see him bloom this week.

Hello NFL Fanatics,

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a tough contest this week as they play the Denver Broncos. Kyle Orton has been having a pretty good season thus far, but I think that when they play the Steelers Kyle Orton may get a huge wake-up call. The Steelers defense will probably force two interceptions maybe even three and get to Kyle for a sack 4 or 5 times. I Think that he will have some success. Ben Roethlisberger didn't have a huge game last time the Steelers played, but I think he will this game.

I am looking for the Steelers to win with a score of 34-28.

My hot picks for this week are guys who I am sure will have a terrific game.

My first hot pick is Peyton Manning. The Colts play this week against the Houston Texans, where I know that Peyton Manning will have a big game and a win over Houston.

My second hot pick is Chris Johnson, running back for the Tennessee Titans. He has been putting up big numbers and I don't see him stopping.

My third hot pick is the Steelers Defense. Kyle

Orton is known for making mistakes just as well as making big plays so, don't be surprised to see Troy Polamalu get a pick or two.

Hey NFL fans!,

I am back and writing, but due to the Steelers having a bye week i will discuss the Saints (my second favorite team). The Saints are undefeated with one of the best quarterbacks in the league. I believe the Saints will not be undefeated but will have a 15-1 record because of their tough offense. The Saints are a great team don't get me wrong, but will not be undefeated. I think they will go to the Super Bowl and depending on who they face the might win.

My first hot pick for this week is Drew Brees as your starting QB. He is playing against the poor Falcons pass defense and I think he will do great. Also, I think that Larry Fitzgerald will start to have a great season when he plays the Carolina Panthers who have been playing horrible lately. I believe Ronnie Brown will have a fantastic game running the Wildcat against the Jets defense. Although their defense was good earlier in the year I think they will not be able to stop the Wildcat from scoring a touchdown and putting up some big yards.

What would your ultimate physical education (gym) class be with an NFL Player?

I would first ask the NFL Superstar to lead the gym class in a stretch and some drills to get ready for a football game against the teachers with the NFL Superstar helping us kids!!!

What would taking an NFL Player to school mean to you?

Meeting a player is one thing but, hanging out with them at my own school would mean the world to me. Watching NFL players inspires me and when my friends watch them they feel the same. It would be nice to see all of my friends at school see that leadership come out. Also, there are a lot of huge Steelers fans in my school that deserve to at least meet them. This wouldn't just mean the WORLD to me, but it would mean the WORLD to my friends and teachers.

Dear NFL fans,

The offseason is full of a ton of different stories. One thing that was great to see was Marion Barber and the rest of the Dallas Cowboys be so welcoming to a very young boy named Ian with a life threatening disease. It was part of the Make A Wish foundation and it was so great to see the whole team contribute to his happiness. That is huge coming from me because I am not a big fan of the Cowboys, but was really happy to see them do that.
To all of you who are Lions fans I believe you guys will have a better season than last year with your rookie QB Matthew Stafford.
Also Cardinals' fans, i wish you good luck on your upcoming season. I believe the Cardinals will at least get the wild card spot after making the Super Bowl last season.
Finally for my Steel City buddies, I hope the Steelers can rebound and win the Super Bowl again this year. They certainly have the talent.
Good luck to the rest of you and enjoy summer!

Sincerely,
Sam K.

Hello Everyone!

I am sorry for the long wait of my new blog entry but, I'm back! The last month has been very exciting and full of events that left me on the edge of my seat. First, Drew Brees sent me one of his very own jerseys!!! Not only that but, it was autographed by him too!! That's not the best part either. He said that I am a great young man with a bright future!! I nearly fainted I was so excited!! Now, it's time to talk about the NFL's headlines. The Jaguars signed a deal with Torry Holt! This is a guy the Jaguars really needed since their wide receivers weren't the best. So, having a wide receiver with his talent will help David Garrard lead his team to a winning record. Out of Kansas City, Matt Cassel had a great season being a starter for the Patriots after Tom Brady's injury. He proved that he deserved a starting job. Of course, the Patriots weren't just going to sit Tom Brady on the bench though, so Matt Cassel is now the starting QB for the Chiefs! I am happy with this trade because he is a great QB and will have a great future in the NFL. Now I am going to give you my own opinion of the upcoming NFL draft. Here are my rankings:

#1 Detroit Lions - Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia

Hey! This is Sam checking in from Homer City, PA again!!! Since the last day I talked with you guys, there have been some major stories. One of the Steelers’ best receivers, Nate Washington, left as a free agent and was signed by the Tennessee Titans!! When I heard this I was really upset because the Titans team trampled on the Terrible Towel during the postseason. Why would he leave the Steelers for someone who disrespects the Steelers? Also, out of Pittsburgh there is more sad news, cornerback, Bryant Mcfadden, had a meeting with the Arizona Cardinals, the team the Steelers just beat in the Super Bowl, to find a deal with them. Hopefully he doesn’t leave. Anyways, moving over to Arizona there is some more news. There were some question marks around Kurt Warner seeing if he would stay with them, but now those are gone because Kurt Warner signed a new deal with the Cardinals. The last big story I will talk about is Terrell Owens. After his not so great season and only 3 seasons in Dallas, he was released and is now a Buffalo Bill. This was an interesting move…That's all I can cover for now.

Until next time,

Hello everyone,

It's Sam checking in again, but this time from my hometown!!!! First things first, what a game!!! That was the greatest game I have ever seen. Seeing the whole team come together as one to win a game, that is what football is all about. Also, congratulations to Ben Roethlisberger for leading the Steelers offense down the field for the game winning drive. Another congrats to the Steelers offensive line for blocking for Ben, which was key. The defense also stepped up and had some big plays. A huge congrats to Santonio Holmes on becoming the Super Bowl XLIII MVP, he really deserved it after that amazing catch at the end of the game to win it. My last congrats is to James Harrison for the greatest play I ever seen. He intercepted a ball off of Kurt Warner for a touchdown. He looked like the only that was going to stop him was a coal truck. Overall, it was the best game ever in the history of the NFL. Easing back into my normal routine was not so easy. Especially when you are constantly getting stopped in school to be asked about it or saying congratulations. Now I can handle it. I am loving that everyone in my county is so happy for me. My dream wont stop here because I even did some play-by-play action for my high school basketball team and will continue my dream of being a sportscaster by doing some work for NFLRush.com by keeping up on NFL activities and writing on them. I will also sign autographs at my local mall on my cereal boxes and donate money to the asthma foundation. I wont stop with my dream. I will live my dream and hopefully inspire all of you to do the same.

- Sportscaster,

Not many people can say they have done have things that I have experienced in the past week or so.
Not many people can say they have done have things that I have experienced in the past week or so. Today was the most incredible day of entire life. When I was standing on the field, it felt like there were a million phones in my body that were vibrating at once. It was so great to see most of my heroes three feet away from me warming up. It was weird walking through the tunnel onto the field hearing people in the crowd say "Yay Homer City, Go Sam Kimmel!" Then came the most nerve-wracking moment of my life thus far; running the ball onto the field of Super Bowl XLIII. Right after that, I went up to my great seats at the corner of the Steelers endzone. It was the best game I have ever watched, seeing the Steelers trailing towards the end of the fourth quarter by three. Then, hearing possibilities of overtime made me nervous because I did not want the outcome of the game to be depended on the flip of a coin. I wanted it to be decided in the last minute and one second that was left of the game. The Steelers did what they have done all season, which was dominate the last possession of the game. Pittsburgh went on to win with a touchdown from Big Ben to Santonio Holmes (Super Bowl XLIII MVP). As you can tell by the score, 27-23, it was a great game to watch and experience. I really want to thank the National Football League, NFL PLAY 60, Jerome Bettis, and Kellogg's Frosted Flakes Earn Your Stripes for giving me this great experience that came with many opportunities that I will never forget. I have so much energy, time to sleep it off thank-you!

Thank-you

It was a fun experience, but my favorite part of the day was riding their roller coasters. Overall, it was a fun day of walking and site-seeing, I definitely got 60 minutes of exercise.

Hello Everyone,

I really want to thank everyone who has been leaving me comments!!! I had another great day today. Today, I was on the ''Today'' show. I got to meet Al Roker, Meredith Vieira, Jerome Bettis (again), and Tiki Barber. I was interviewed first by Meredith and Al. Later, I got to compete against Tiki Barber in a Speed and Mobility game. I ended up beating Tiki by three seconds!!! Then, I went back to the hotel for a little down time. Before I knew it, another three hours went by and I was at my next interview with the NFL Network, with Rich Eisen and the junior reporter for Kellogg's Frosted Flakes, Luke. We did a little singing and a bit of analyzing and overall it was a great interview.

We finally got a chance to check out the NFL Experience. It was weird walking around hearing little kids whispering, "That's the kid that won the thingy!!" It was fun though. Later, I got to do a nice flag football clinic. We ended up playing four different flag football games. Overall, I scored twelve touchdowns and met another kid who has asthma. He recognized me from the Today Show, but he is rooting for the Cardinals in the Super Bowl. After all that, I ended the day by going out to eat with the family.

Stay Classy Homer City,

I even ran a drill with Jason Witten! Next, I got a break where I ate chocolate ice cream and watched a movie. Then, I went onto the field of RAYMOND JAMES STADIUM, HOST of Super Bowl XLIII!!! I got so many pictures and ran through the schedule of Sunday. I found out I have fantastic seats, too!!

Then, I went to a YET (Youth Education Town) program/facility, where the NFL donated a field to a local town. Steve Young and Drew Brees were there and I got their autographs and a picture with them. I really got a chance to talk to Drew Brees because he took me to a media center for an interview with USA today and photos. Drew Brees is now one of my heroes. Drew Brees should be on a cereal box too since he never has!!!! He is truly a leader on and off the field. I then met my cool extended family to end the day.

Hi Everyone, Today was a day full of excitement. After the teams had their media day on Tuesday, I had my own personal day with Jerome "The Bus" Bettis!

Hi Everyone, Today was a day full of excitement. After the teams had their media day on Tuesday, I had my own personal day with Jerome "The Bus" Bettis. There were countless interviews, with a day I expected to be filled with games and the NFL experience. Every couple minutes there were new interviews with different reporters from various stations. It got overwhelming, but the best part was playing games with Jerome Bettis. He won some of the passing games, but I am the one who seemed to dominate the running games...(because he didn't even play the running games hahaha). Next, he took me to sit on the NBC platform; he taught me how to be a good sportscaster by giving me tips such as posture and looking at the camera and person whom I am speaking with. During this great experience wtih Jerome, he even let me wear his SUPERBOWL RING! His fingers had to be at least two times the size of mine, if not three. Then I went to a big press conference with the Commissioner, Roger Goodell, and several NFL players such as Warrick Dunn and Derrick Brooks. The only thing I said to the kids in the audience was "Here We Go Steelers!". While I was on the stage, another former Buccaneers player let me wear his Super Bowl ring.

Following the press conference, I was interviewed by Luke, a junior reporter for Kellogg's Frosted Flakes Earn Your Stripes. Then, my family and I were escorted to Raymond James Stadium for my photo shoot with Kellogg's. It was my first photo shoot and it was very entertaining. Next, we went back to the hotel and shot hoops, swam, and raced my big sister at dog paddling haha. Finally, I would like to say thank you to my community and everyone else who is leaving me comments.

Well, I gotta go back to my room! Til tomorrow...

Hello everyone,

This is Sam Kimmel checking in from Tampa Bay, Florida!!! I would like to apologize to Homer City and everyone else who is in cold, terrible weather. I will be warm for you. Anyways, today started very tiring. The night before I was too excited to sleep, so didn't get much of it. I made sure everything was packed and ready to go then the long process began. We arrived at the airport around 5:10 in the morning and that was my first trip to an airport. It was fun exploring through the airport and finding our gate. Once we did, we waited for a while then we boarded and were ready to go. It took a while, but before I knew it I was in an airplane so high in the sky for the very first time!!! We then landed about two and a half hours later. We found our rental car and explored to find our hotel. We were able to find it and have some fun. We went outside and took advantage of the great weather. We went swimming and shot some hoops and explored Florida a little bit. Later, an NFL employee dropped off my gear for the NFL events and Steelers gear. I also got an offical football signed by my favorite player, Ben Roethlisberger!! The day ended with some more swimming.

Well, I've got to get some shut-eye for tomorrow, See-ya tomorrow !

- Sam

This was just me walking in. It was such a great experience to see my school have a pep rally just for me. My friends usually don't like to keep secrets from me, but this one they did!! It was really emotional for me and all of my friends and family and others who supported me...it was just overwhelming.

It got even more exciting when I got called to mid-court. The whole school was cheering for me!!! The cheerleaders were even chanting " HERE WE GO SAM!!! HERE WE GO!!" Then, I announced just a few things about my busy schedule ahead for Tampa Bay, Florida at Super Bowl XLIII.

This was the best...the band played final countdown, while cheerleaders and my big sister ran in a circle around me. It was so amazing. I never thought this great of an opportunity could happen to me. I love this!!!! Thank you so much and all of the NFL and Kellogg's Earn Your Stripes program and the PLAY 60 program!!! Make sure to check in tomorrow for my first article from Tampa!
