Sue's Tips on Healthy EatingThe flu and cold seasons are upon us. There has been lots of information on washing your hands and covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze as ways to prevent getting sick.
Eating a balanced diet and drinking plenty of fluids is also important in staying healthy. There are some nutrients like vitamin C and vitamin A that help our immune system. Our immune system defends our bodies against infection. The immune system also helps us recover from injuries. Football players need to eat healthy so their bodies are able to heal after a rough football game. Preventing a flu or cold and healing a bruise all require good nutrition.
