WEEK 2 RECAP


Week 2 of NFL Football served up some great match-ups and amazing games. The season is heating up! Here are some highlights from this past weekend:

Peyton Manning
Colts quarterback Peyton Manning throws a pass against the Titans.
Colts Vs. Titans

INDIANAPOLIS 22 at TENNESSEE 20
QB Peyton Manning and the Colts barely got by Vince Young and the Titans to win, 22-20. The Colts defense saved the game by forcing a fumble and stopping the Titans as they drove downfield, in the last seconds of the game!

WHO'S HOT:

Colts: QB Peyton Manning completed 28 of 42 passes for 312 yards and 1 TD.

Marvin Harrison caught 6 passes for 87 yards and Joseph Addai rushed for 81 yards and 1 TD.

Titans: QB Vince Young was 17-of-27 for 184 yards with 1 TD. Vince also ran for 53 yards.

LenDale White carried the ball 15 times for 64 yards and 1 TD and Roydell Williams caught 4 passes for 72 yards and 1 TD.


NOT THEIR BEST GAME:

Adam Vinatieri, the Colts great and dependable kicker, did not have a great day. Yes, he did kick three field goals, BUT, he had an extra point blocked, a field goal partially blocked and a missed 36-yarder in the fourth quarter.

Bengals Vs. Browns

CINCINNATI 45 vs. CLEVELAND 51
In this intense, high-scoring Midwest match-up, the Browns prevailed, beating the Bengals, 51-45.

WHO'S HOT:

Bengals: QB Carson Palmer completed 33 of 50 for 401 yards and 6 TDs! What a day! He also threw 2 interceptions.

Rudi Johnson rushed for 118 yards, totaled 33 yards receiving and had 1 TD, Chad Johnson had 209 yards receiving and scored 2 TDs and T.J. Houshmandzadeh racked up 69 yards receiving and also scored 2 TDs!

Browns: QB Derek Anderson completed passed 20 of 33 passes for 328 yards and 5 TDs! His only blemish was 1 interception.

Jamal Lewis rushed for 215 yards and 1 TD and Braylon Edwards totaled 146 yards and scored 2 TDs.

Kellen Winslow scored 1 TD and had 100 yards total and Joe Jurevicius had 44 yards receiving and 2 TDs.

On defense, Leigh Bodden intercepted the ball with 21 seconds left in the game to seal the victory for the Browns!


GOOD TRIVIA:

This was the 8th highest scoring game in NFL history!

49ers Vs. Rams

SAN FRANCISCO 17 vs. ST. LOUIS 16
The 49ers won this squeaker, 17-16, after a bad 4th quarter played by the Rams.
WHO'S HOT:

49ers: QB Alex Smith was 11/17 for 126 yards.

Frank Gore had 81 yards rushing and scored 2 TDs!

In the air, Darrell Jackson totaled 61 yards receiving.

Rams: QB Marc Bulger was 24 of 41 passing for 368 yards and 1 TD and Steven Jackson rushed for 60 yards.

Isaac Bruce totaled 145 yards receiving and Torry Holt hauled in 74 yards receiving and 1 TD.

On defense, Nate Clements forced a safety to pull the Rams within 1.


NOT THEIR BEST GAME:

Rams kicker Jeff Wilkins missed a 56 yard field goal with less than a minute left.

Rams QB Marc Bulger was sacked 6 times!

Seahawks Vs. Cardinals

SEATTLE 20 vs. ARIZONA 23
This game came down to the last second, as Arizona won, 23-20, on a 43-yard field goal by Neil Rackers.

WHO'S HOT:

Seahawks: Matt Hasselbeck completed 22 of 36 for 281 yards and 1 TD.

RB Shaun Alexander rushed for 70 yards and 1 TD.

In the air, Deion Branch had 122 yards receiving.

Cardinals: QB Matt Leinart completed 23 of 37 passes for 299 yards and 1 TD. He did toss 1 interception.

Edgerrin James ran for 128 yards, had 22 yards receiving and scored 1 TD!

Larry Fitzgerald hauled in 87 yards receiving.

In a nail-biting moment, Neil Rackers kicked a 43 yard field goal with 1 second remaining to win the game for the Cardinals!

Raiders Vs. Broncos

OAKLAND 20 vs. DENVER 23
The Broncos beat the Raiders, 23-20, in a wild finish as kicker Jason Elam nailed a field goal in overtime! Sebastian Janikowski kicked a 52 yard field goal, which was nullified by a timeout called by the Broncos and he missed his second attempt. Finally, Jason Elam kicked the game winning field goal in overtime!
WHO'S HOT:

Raiders: QB Josh McCown completed 8 out of 16 passes for 73 yards and 1 TD. He also rushed for 28 yards and threw 3 interceptions.

LaMont Jordan ran for 159 yards and Jerry Porter had 46 yards receiving and 1 TD!

Broncos: QB Jay Cutler was 23 for 33 for 269 yards and 1 TD. He did toss 2 interceptions.

Travis Henry rushed for 128 yards.

Javon Walker had 101 yards receiving and Brandon Stokley caught 3 passes for 43 yards and scored 1 TD.

Jason Elam kicked the game winning field goal in overtime!


GOOD TRIVIA:

Denver's Jason Elam also won the game for the Broncos last week with a late field goal!

Vikings Vs. Lions

MINNESOTA 17 vs. DETROIT 20
The Lions won over the Vikings, 20-17, on a field goal kicked by Jason Hanson in overtime!

WHO'S HOT:

Lions: QB John Kitna completed 22 of 33 for 245 yards and 1 TD. He also rushed for 13 yards, had 9 yards receiving and threw 1 interception.

Back-up QB J.T. O'Sullivan threw 13 completions out of 23 for 148 yards and 1 TD. He did toss 2 interceptions.

In the air, Roy Williams totaled 111 yards receiving with 1 TD and Calvin Johnson rushed for 61 yards and scored 1 TD.

Jason Hanson kicked the game winning field goal in OT for the Lions!

Vikings: QB Tarvaris Jackson threw 17 completions of 33 for 166 yards and rushed for 16 yards including 1 rushing TD! He also tossed 4 interceptions.

Adrian Peterson totaled 66 yards rushing and 52 yards receiving.


NOT THEIR BEST GAME:

Both the Vikes and Lions had 5 turnovers and both teams also racked up a heap of penalties: the Vikings had 12 and the Lions had 7!
