Alex Takes Larry Fitzgerald As His #1 Receiver!
![]() Hey NFLRUSHers! My name is Alex and I’m a new NFLRUSH kid reporter. Football season is coming up and one of my favorite things to do during the season is play fantasy football. I’ve played with my parents and friends since I was 7 and know a lot about fantasy. I’ve previewed below who I would pick first, by position, for my fantasy football team. I hope it will help you make your decisions easier while you have your draft.
QB: Tom Brady - After a record breaking 2007 season, expectations were high for Brady and the Patriots. Unfortunately, Brady went down with a season-ending ACL and MCL tear in his knee. Brady is now healthy, and with the addition of veteran receiver Joey Galloway, I’m expecting Brady to bounce back and have another 30 TD season.
RB: Adrian Peterson- Peterson is the most explosive young running back in the league. He’s had solid fantasy years since his rookie season in 2007. In my opinion, AP is a lock for another double digit TD season.
WR: Larry Fitzgerald- Fitzgerald had a jaw dropping postseason, scoring a NFL-record 7 playoff touchdowns. Fitzgerald’s specialty is the deep bomb, and veteran quarterback Kurt Warner has the arm to give him deep touchdowns. I believe the 26 year old will have the best season of his young career.
TE: Tony Gonzalez- After catching passes in Kansas City for the first twelve years of his successful career, Gonzo got the trade he wanted moving him to the Falcons. He is a huge fantasy producer and puts up numbers like a receiver. Although he has to compete with Roddy White and Michael Jenkins for catches, he could lead tight ends in touchdowns.
D/ST: Pittsburgh Steelers- The Steelers defense is loaded up with stars including Troy Polamalu, James Harrison, and James Farrior. They go for sacks and return fumbles and interceptions for touchdowns. They have an easy schedule in which half of their games are against teams who a record under 500 last year. These are just a few reasons why I think the Steelers are the most dominant defense in fantasy football.
Wild Card: Michael Turner- Turner exceeded expectations last year, having huge numbers. He got 376 carries last season though and it’s known for running backs not to have a great season after that many carries. But he sat on the bench for four years behind LT and he is only 27 so he should have consecutive awesome years.
If you have a chance to draft any of these players (or defenses) you should. If all goes well, they will have very productive fantasy years. Good luck in your fantasy football league!
Alex
