Saints Finally Get Their Rings!!

WHO DAT GOT A SUPERBOWL!

Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints and Saints fans, finally, you have a conference championship AND a WORLD Championship.

I predicted the Saints, thinking they would have a "happy to be there" feel to it, but I can't get this sad thought out of my mind, the season is over, thankfully the Olympics are coming, so I won't have to worry.

Now the Superbowl, there is one play I want to highlight, it was the New Orleans Onside kick, gutsy move by Payton, and it paid off. If that defender was even considering the possibility of an onside kick, he might have caught it and gave the Colts a great field position, he didn't.

Moment #2: The best commercials ever come on during the Super Bowl. My favorite was a Doritos commercial, a dog walks up to a guy, who's eating Doritos, he has one of those "shock collars" so the guy says, speak, and you can have one, so the dogs puts it on the guy, barks, shocks him and leaves with the Doritos, the end.

And finally, My family doesn't have Super Bowl traditions, but I love how we get seafood, particularly Shrimp, which is kinda expensive here in Colorado, and I (being born in California) love seafood, so that was a great treat.

What was your favorite part of the Super Bowl?! Comment Below!

WHO DAT SAID DEY GONNA BEAT THEM SAINTS? RIGHT NOW, NO ONE!

The New Orleans Saints pulled the upset of the year last night, as they beat the Indianapolis Colts by a score of 31-17.

WOW! Drew Brees was named MVP, and he sure deserved it! He completed 32 of 39 passes for 288 yards and 2 touchdowns. This was a back-and-forth game like no other for sure (I should know, I spent nearly the whole time either jumping up and down, or slapping my forehead and groaning).

The Saints were down 10-0 in the first quarter, but came back to make it a 10-6 game at the half. In one of the gutsiest calls in Super Bowl history, Sean Payton went with a surprise onside kick at the start of the third quarter and the Saints recovered it! That was the first onside kick in Super Bowl history that did not come in the fourth quarter, and it was also only the fifth successful onside in the history of the big game.

Anyway, the two teams exchanged leads a few times, but when they needed it the most, Tracy Porter ran back an INT (the only turnover for either team all game) 74 yards for the sealing touchdown.

I can't believe that the season is over! It seems like just yesterday that I was writing the Week 2 article. Anyway, the offseason has started. I'm sure we'll be hearing trade talks, draft questions and retirement rumors before the week is out. I'll keep you posted on big offseason moves and I'll probably do something for the draft as well.

Well, that's about it for now.

Until next time,

Live from London!! Part II

Hello NFL RUSHERS!

A few weeks ago I went to the NFL UK head office and met three American football TV and radio presenters in the UK and Alistair Kirkwood the Managing Director for NFL UK.  Last time I wrote, I told you about my day with the presenters but now I’m going to tell you about meeting Alistair.

Alistair Kirkwood supports the Buffalo Bills who he said have been to the Super Bowl four times but never won. He said “It’s been an emotional journey”.

I asked him what he likes most about having international games in the UK and he said “It is great fun for all the UK fans to get an opportunity to come together at Wembley stadium in London. He loves all the team colors that fans wear. All 32 teams are supported not just the two that are playing. It’s fun and exciting and it’s a chance for all of you in the USA to see how passionate we are about the NFL in the UK.”

Most importantly I asked him if he thought there would be an Indianapolis Colts game in London. He said not as a home team, but there is a good chance they could be here as an away team. I’m SO happy, and if there is I will go!

I also told him that I’d had some shouts on NFL Rush asking why there wasn’t a UK competition separate. He said there are 43 college teams over here and there is an amateur league and teams play each year in a competition called the Brit Bowl.

Who will win on Sunday? Alistair said “New Orleans Saints” and I guess he was right!

Talking about the Super Bowl I was SO excited. My dad woke me up at 11pm to watch the game and I watched the whole game and got to bed at 3am…..groan, and I went to school this morning!

PS – Before I forget, well done to Noah for winning the fantasy football!

SUPER BOWL XLIV WINNERS!

WHO DAT SAID DEY GONNA BEAT DEM Saints? WHO DAT? WHO DAT?

For the first time in NFL history, the Saints have won the Super Bowl. Drew Brees broke a Super Bowl record by having the most completions; passsing Tom Brady's record (30). Drew Brees had 32 completions, 39 attempts, and 2 touchdowns. He had zero interceptions and a passer rating of 114.5. No wonder he got MVP!

Peyton Manning obviously had different stats. Peyton Manning had 31 completions, 45 attempts, 1 interception that was run back for a touchdown by Tracy Porter, and a passer rating of 88.5. Now for the running backs. Joseph Addai had 13 attempts, 77 yards, and 1 touchdown. Pierre Thomas had 9 attempts for 30 yards and no touchdowns. Reggie Bush had a great game with 5 attempts, 25 yards, and no touchdowns.

I have a quick trivia question. What did Tracy Porter have shaved on the back of his head? I'd also like to make a shout out to all the Colts fans in my grade. GEAUX Saints AND ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Swimming with the Dolphins....1 day left

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 6 - WESLEY @ SUPER BOWL XLIV

Hello Everyone!

I had the best time sightseeing in Miami today. The best part was swimming with the Dolphins at the Miami Seaquarium. My PLAY 60 was so cool today!  I also got to see a killer whale and sea lion show. It was awesome!

Tomorrow is the big day... We practiced yesterday and I think I'm all set, but wish me luck!  I can't wait to be on the field at Super Bowl to help kick off the game. I wonder if Drew Brees is as excited as me.  I better get some rest!

Just 2 More Days Before The Big Game!

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 6 - WESLEY LIVE @ SUPER BOWL XLIV

Hi Everybody,

Today started with my favorite Cartoon Network crew coming to my pool at the Westin Diplomat and watching me play my 60 by swimming again. I met two more friends today, so Fortune Cookie. Cupcake, Chezit, Oscar, Goldfish and Pretzel were all there.

After that we went to the real fun area called South Beach. I was inteviewed by NFL Network Total Access hosts Rich Eisen, Deion Sanders, Warren Sapp, and Marshall Faulk (i found out he is also from NOLA.)  Then we walked around SOBE and had a fun time seeing the fans and shopping.

Finally, we went back to the stadium and I practiced bringing the ball on the field. My favorite part of the day was meeting the Saintsations and taking picutes with them. They are soooo pretty and so sweet!

I can't wait for when I really get to run onto the field at Super Bowl..Who Dat!
